Anemone crabs are usually red with splotches of red or brown. They have large front claws with fine nets inside them that they use to catch food as it drifts by. They are peaceful and one of the few truly reef friendly crabs. They usually live together in pairs and like to host in an anemone. It will compete with a clownfish for the rights to host an anemone but the clownfish always wins. It should not be kept with larger, more aggressive predatory crabs, as they may eat them. It eats planktonic food and mucus from the anemone. It may be supplemented with tablet food placed next to the anemone.
