Banggai Cardinal

The Banggai Cardinalfish, also known as the Kaudern’s Cardinal or Longfin Cardinalfish, is a visually appealing fish with an elegant and refined color pattern. Its body has a shiny silver hue, dotted with pearly white spots, and is adorned with striking black stripes that enhance the long fins. To keep the Banggai Cardinalfish healthy, provide it with a spacious, well-filtered aquarium of at least 30 gallons, adorned with ample live rock formations that create caves, overhangs, and crevices, as well as open spaces for swimming. Due to its slow and steady swimming, it should be kept with peaceful tank mates. In larger aquariums with abundant swimming and hiding places, groups of Banggai Cardinalfish can live in harmony. Additionally, moderate water movement will be appreciated by the fish. Breeding the Kaudern’s Cardinalfish is relatively simple in the aquarium setting, as the male will carry the eggs in its mouth to safeguard them once spawning has occurred. To maintain the Kaudern’s Cardinalfish’s well-being, provide small, frequent feedings of a well-balanced diet consisting of enriched frozen brine shrimp and mysis shrimp, as well as high-quality marine pellets or flakes.
