Blue Hippo Tang Tiny
The Blue Tang is a stunning fish with an electric blue body and bold black markings. These markings begin at the eyes, trace the dorsal line down to the tail, and circle back above the pectoral fin, resembling a painter’s palette. Because of this unique marking, the Blue Tang is also known as the Palette Surgeonfish, as well as the Pacific Blue Tang, Hepatus, or Regal Tang. This fish is perfect for large community marine aquariums because of its beauty and peaceful nature. Native to reefs across the Indo-Pacific, the Blue Tang enjoys hiding amongst live rock but also loves to swim. Therefore, providing ample room for it to roam around the aquarium is essential for its health. While it is peaceful towards most tankmates, it can become aggressive towards other Blue Tangs. To keep multiple specimens, it is best to introduce the entire lot at once into a larger marine system. The Blue Tang can eat meaty foods along with other fish in the aquarium, but it is crucial to offer plenty of marine-based seaweed and algae to strengthen its immune system, reduce aggression, and improve overall health. Dried seaweed tied to a rock or a veggie clip should be offered at least three times a week.
