Filamented Flasher Wrasse Supermale
The Whip-fin Fairy Wrasse, also known as the Filamented Flasher Wrasse, originates from the Indo-Pacific region. This fish is mostly red with a white underside, and its fins are yellow with blue markings. The male has an elongated dorsal fin and displays more brilliant colors than the female, especially during courting when it rapidly changes colors, hence its name. This peaceful and active fish is an excellent addition to a fish-only or reef aquarium that is at least 55 gallons in size. It won’t harm any corals or invertebrates, making it a suitable choice for a reef tank. A group of females can be introduced to a single male at the same time or prior to its arrival. However, this species tends to jump, so a tightly-fitting canopy is recommended. When introducing this fish to an aquarium, live saltwater feeder shrimp should be used to encourage it to eat. Their diet should consist of various feeder shrimp, flaked foods, and marine meats. The fish’s color may vary depending on its mood.
