Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish Medium
The Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish, also known as the Shortfin Lionfish or simply the Dwarf Lionfish, displays red, white, and black vertical stripes on its body along with large, fan-like pectoral fins and tall, quill-like dorsal fins. Its name is fitting due to its full fins, and it may also be referred to as Dendrochirus zebra. To accommodate this fish, a 50-gallon or larger aquarium with plenty of hiding places is suitable. During the acclimation period, it tends to hide. The top spines are venomous, causing reactions similar to a bee sting. Despite this, the Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish is a friendly fish that recognizes and responds to its owner’s presence. To encourage the fish to eat, live saltwater feeder shrimp should be introduced when it is first added to the aquarium. The Dwarf Lionfish prefers meaty foods such as live shrimp (including ornamental shrimp), live fish, and occasionally, crustacean flesh.
