Gold Lightning Maroon Clownfish Pair
The GoldxLightning Maroon Clownfish is a captive-bred, designer clownfish resulting from crossing the Gold Nugget and Lightning Maroon Clownfish. The offspring display varying patterns, with some favoring their Lightning Maroon heritage, while others exhibit more Gold Nugget or Goldflake Maroon traits. Maroon Clownfish are known for their vibrant colors, large fins, and confident behavior. The Captive-Bred GoldxLightning Maroon Clownfish is no exception and will make a beautiful addition to any marine aquarium. When selecting a pair, it’s best to choose fish with a significant size difference. Captive-Bred Clownfish, including the GoldxLightning Maroon, are hardy and can thrive in home aquariums. They are ideal for beginners and experienced aquarists, and can even be kept in reef aquariums. However, keep in mind that Maroon Clownfish can be territorial and may exhibit semi-aggressive behavior. They are also sensitive to high copper levels and should not be exposed to levels above 0.15ppm. Breeding Captive-Bred Clownfish in the home aquarium is easy. The females are typically larger than the males and will deposit eggs on a flat surface, defending them from other tankmates. The eggs hatch in 6-11 days, and the fry require a diet of rotifers and baby brine shrimp in a separate tank. The Captive-Bred GoldxLightning Maroon Clownfish’s diet consists of meaty items like frozen brine shrimp and mysis shrimp, as well as herbivore preparations. When catching them, avoid using a net as their cheek spines may become entangled. Use a specimen container instead.
