McCosker’s flasher wrase PAIR
The McCosker’s Flasher Wrasse is a visually stunning and reef-safe species that will add an active and colorful dimension to your aquarium. This hardy species can adapt well to established home aquariums, making it a great addition to your collection. The male McCosker’s Flasher Wrasse is predominantly red/orange with blue, horizontal stripes that complement its yellow stomach, and features an impressive dorsal and anal fin with striking red, yellow, and blue accents. In contrast, the females have a more subdued coloration and lack the prominent fins. To ensure the safety of your fish, it is recommended to house the McCosker’s Flasher Wrasse in a 55-gallon aquarium or larger with a secure lid to prevent jumping. This species is often found in reef slopes and rubble zones, swimming near the bottom, and forming small groups where males court females by swimming between groups and displaying their vibrant colors. It’s best to feed the McCosker’s Flasher Wrasse with vitamin-enriched frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other meaty foods, along with high-quality marine flakes and pellets. It’s recommended to keep only one male in each aquarium display to prevent any territorial conflicts. They are reef safe.
