Midas Blenny
The Midas Blenny is an ideal addition to a reef aquarium. It flaunts a stunning golden-yellow color with a hint of blue under the chin and striking blue-rimmed eyes. When in motion, it moves like an eel. To keep this blenny happy, a tank of at least 30 gallons or larger with plenty of rocks to perch on is recommended. It may bother small planktivores and has been known to nip at firefish and gobies. In general, a larger tank is better, as the Midas Blenny’s aggressive behavior is often related to feeling confined. Unlike most blennies, the Midas Blenny requires a diet rich in meat. It should be fed finely chopped crustacean flesh, mysis and vitamin-enriched brine shrimp, along with frozen herbivorous preparations, micro and blue-green algae.
