Powder Blue Tang Medium
The Powder Blue Tang, also known as the Powder Blue Surgeonfish, Japan Surgeonfish, and White-faced Surgeonfish, has a blue body with a white mark on the cheek between the mouth and eyes. The pectoral, anal, and dorsal fins are dark blue with light blue highlights at the tip. The dorsal fin also has an orange stripe present. The tail is blue with a yellow vertical bar. Yellow striping runs along the body, against the anal and dorsal fins, forming a wishbone-shaped marking. To provide sufficient swimming space, an aquarium of at least 125 gallons is required. It’s best to keep only one Powder Blue Tang per tank, and use caution when cohabiting with other Tangs or Surgeonfish. Tangs with similar body shapes can exhibit high levels of aggression towards each other. Although Tangs can consume meaty foods alongside other fish in the aquarium, it’s vital to offer them plenty of marine-based seaweed and algae. This helps to strengthen their immune system, reduce aggression, and improve overall health. To do this, you can tie dried seaweed to a rock or use a veggie clip, and feed them at least three times a week.
