Sailfin Fairy Wrasse

The Sailfin Fairy Wrasse, originating from Indonesia to the Philippines, prefers the rubble areas of the outer reefs. This peaceful wrasse is an excellent addition to any reef aquarium, adding stunning coloration. During courtship, like other wrasses, males will display increased color intensity, with color variations depending on their mood. The Sailfin Fairy Wrasse is a very peaceful and active fish that can bring both color and activity to a fish-only or reef aquarium of 90 gallons or larger. They are perfect for reef aquariums as they will not disturb any corals or invertebrates. A group of females can be introduced to a single male, either prior to or at the same time as the male. However, since these wrasses tend to jump, a tight-fitting canopy is recommended. To maintain optimal health, the Sailfin Fairy Wrasse’s diet should include vitamin-enriched frozen mysis shrimp, vitamin-enriched frozen brine shrimp, and other meaty foods, along with high-quality marine flake and marine pellet food. Since wrasses are very active, they should be fed several times a day.
