Sailfin Tang Large
The Sailfin Tang, also known as the Pacific Sailfin Tang, possesses an oval body shape with various rich and distinctive markings. Its body is brown in color with light freckles on the nose. It has five vertical yellow stripes on its body, each with intricate markings. The tail starts with bright yellow and ends with blue highlights. The size of its dorsal and anal fins can be adjusted to nearly double its appearance. A 180-gallon or larger tank is required to offer enough space for swimming. This species can display aggression towards its own species and conspecifics at times, but it is peaceful towards other fish in the tank. When introducing like species, it’s recommended to do so at the same time. While Tangs are omnivores and consume meaty foods, providing them with marine-based seaweed and algae is important to boost their immune system, reduce aggression, and improve overall health. You can offer dried seaweed by tying it to a rock or using a veggie clip and feed at least three times a week. Sea Veggies, Seaweed Salad, and Ocean Nutrition are all excellent products that are easy to use. It is worth noting that Tangs can play an essential role in controlling algae growth in saltwater aquariums.
