Snowflake Ocellaris clownfish
The Captive-Bred Snowflake Ocellaris Clownfish is a unique color variation of the popular Amphiprion ocellaris clownfish, with striking “snowflake” markings on its side. The fish has an orange base with three white stripes outlined in black, and the irregularly shaped white middle stripe covers most of its body. This fish, also known as the Snowflake Anemonefish, is an excellent addition to any saltwater aquarium due to its hardy nature and ease of breeding. Captive-bred Snowflake Ocellaris Clownfish are more accustomed to home aquarium conditions and are generally very hardy. They are a great choice for both novice and seasoned aquarists. Breeding this clownfish in the home aquarium is easy. The females are typically larger, and the pair will stay close together in the aquarium. The fish are egg layers and will deposit their eggs on a flat surface, which they will defend from other tank mates. The eggs will hatch in 8-11 days, depending on the water temperature. The fry must be raised separately in another aquarium and fed a diet of rotifers followed by baby brine shrimp. This Clownfish is an aggressive eater and will consume most meaty foods and frozen herbivore preparations.
