Yellow Watchman Goby Medium
The Yellow Watchman Goby is yellow with white spots on its front half. It has a symbiotic relationship with some pistol shrimps, acting as a watchman for the blind shrimp. They share a burrow that the shrimp digs, reducing their risk of being eaten. This hardy species is easy to care for, but avoid keeping it with aggressive species. It appreciates being with Alpheus shrimps and hiding places. A 10-gallon tank is enough for one goby, but a larger tank is needed for more fish. The aquarium should have hiding places and a deep substrate bed with sand and rubble. The Yellow Watchman Goby is a carnivore and needs a high protein diet of flake food, shrimp pellets, and seafood. Feed it 2-3 times a day. The water should have pH 8.1-8.4, salinity 1.020-1.025, and temperature 75°F – 82°F (25°C – 28°C). It does well in reef aquariums, but cover the tank to prevent jumping.
